Accessibility
Last updated 17 August 2026
We want this site to work for everyone who wants to read it. This page says what we have done and, more usefully, what we know is still wrong. A statement that lists no real limitations is not a statement.
Our target
WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We are not there yet, and the gaps are listed below.
What is in place
- A skip link to the main content, and a visible focus ring on every interactive element.
- A single ordered heading structure, so the page can be navigated by headings.
- Animation and the scroll progress indicator both switch off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Navigation available at every screen width, with touch targets of at least 44 pixels.
- Body and label text at 12 pixels or larger throughout, and every text pair measured at WCAG AA contrast or better.
- The expanding portfolio rows and the questions section work from the keyboard and announce their state.
- Form fields with real labels, an error message announced to screen readers, and no reliance on color alone.
Known limitations
- No published audit. The site has not yet been through an independent accessibility review. Every text and background pair has now been measured against WCAG AA: twenty-four of twenty-five passed and the one failure — muted type in the footer — was corrected. That is our own measurement, not a third party's.
- Portrait images are placeholders. The People section currently shows initials rather than photographs, and the company pages carry no logos.
- Company pages are internal only. Each of the six companies has a page on this site, but we do not yet link out to the operating companies' own addresses.
- JavaScript is required for the mobile menu and the expanding rows. All the content is present without it, but those two controls will not respond.
- Fonts load from a third party, so a blocked font request changes the typography, including the lettering inside our mark.
If something does not work
Tell us and we will fix it, and we will tell you when we have. Email hello@winterfamilycollective.com or call 615-647-6792. Describe the page and what happened; you do not need to know the technical term for it.
We aim to reply within two business days, the same as any other message.
